Richard Colbert has spent 38 years in banking and more than 32 years as a CRA Mortgage Loan Officer, using his expertise to help first-time homebuyers achieve their dream of homeownership. A Bronze-Level MHDC Loan Officer, he serves customers throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, including customers in Jackson County, Missouri, and in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas. Richard is known for helping buyers understand the mortgage process.
Richard believes that buying a home should never feel overwhelming. He takes time to break down mortgage lending terminology, encourage questions, and walk buyers through the process step by step. His goal is to simplify the experience and help clients feel informed and confident from first conversation through closing and beyond. One of his proudest moments was helping a husband and wife in their late 70s purchase their first home—a reminder of why he loves helping people with one of the biggest investments of their lives.
A Kansas City native and Mizzou graduate, Richard is active in his community through Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, St. James United Methodist Church, and the Raytown Educational Foundation. When he’s not helping homebuyers, he enjoys time with his wife, two daughters, and three grandchildren, along with football, music, and travel.
