With 30+ years in mortgage banking and 15 years at OakStar Bank, Mike O’Neill serves as OakStar Bank’s Mortgage Banking Director and is based in the Kansas City Metro area. He’s especially skilled at helping borrowers evaluate their circumstances and align them with the program that makes the most sense—grounding his guidance in long-standing market knowledge and a people-first mindset.
Borrowers who work with Mike experience a personal, trust-centered process marked by timely answers, consistent updates, and calm guidance. He emphasizes education and transparency so clients feel confident in their decisions from the first conversation forward.
Mike primarily supports borrowers in Missouri and Kansas, but he often utilizes OakStar’s ability to lend in nearly all 50 states to support mortgage financing nationwide. In his director role, Mike partners with loan originators across Kansas City, Springfield, central Missouri, and Colorado to support teams and clients. A midtown Kansas City native, Mike enjoys time at the lake, getting in a round of golf, and spending time with his wife, four children, and grandchild.
